In the Kitchen with Marcia: Purdue Extension Educator Marcia Parcell hosts and teaches a variety of hands-on cooking classes. Participants learn recipes and create dishes to take home or create at home. August theme is Appetizers and Healthy Snacks. Everyone needs a snack or appetizer once in a while. Not all appetizers and snacks are created equal. Learn ways to make appetizers and snacks fun and nutritious! North Dearborn Branch Library. 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. Must register. Adults. Free.

Anime Club: HELLO ANIME LOVERS! Do you love anime, manga, or all things Japan? Do you want to try anime to see if you like it? Do you want to weeb out with some fellow weebs? If so, come join Anime Club at the Lawrenceburg Main Library! We will meet once a month and watch anime, eat snacks, and do fun activities! 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 15 & 29, Lawrenceburg Main Library. No registration needed. Teens. Free.

D&D at the Library: Calling all adventurers! Join us in the café area on Tuesday evenings, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., to play 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. We offer a friendly, low-pressure environment for beginning players and veterans alike. We provide snacks and character sheets. Bring your own dice or borrow ours. Participants under 18 must have signed waiver. 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30. No registration needed. Ages 16 to 35. Free.

ALL IN: ALL IN is designed to encourage adults with intellectual/developmental difficulties and their families and caregivers to feel comfortable navigating the library and communicating with staff. Genealogy Roundtable: For August the theme is Virtual Tours of Ancestral Lands. 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Lawrenceburg Main Library. No registration needed. Adults. Free.

Eco Friendly Products Show and Tell: NDB Branch Manager, Lorrie, will share some of her Eco-Friendly products and tell how they help our environment. If you are a fellow eco-friendly person and have products in your home that help reduce waste please bring them with you to share how they work and help our planet. Each participant will take home a laundry detergent sheet to try at home! 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at North Dearborn Branch. Must register. Adults. Free.

Creative Writers Guild Potluck Dinner: The Creative Writers Guild is a support group for writers of all locales, genres, and skill levels. This month past, current and future members are invited to attend a potluck dinner in the courtyard! Bring a dish and yourself, but make sure to register! Suggested August writing theme is: Light/The Moon Through the Treetops. But you do not need to write anything to attend! 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Must register. Adults. Free.

Harp Music in the Courtyard: Listen to Jessica Risinger and Heidi Winkler as they perform harp music in the courtyard starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Lawrenceburg Main Library. Take & Make- Worry Dolls: National Relaxation Day is Aug. 15. What better way to help you relax than taking some of your worries away? With this Take and Make craft kit you can create your own Guatemalan Worry Doll. Tell your worries to the doll, then place it under your pillow at night to gain the wisdom needed to eliminate all your worries. Starts 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Lawrenceburg Main Library. LEGO Family Challenge: In the celebration of the 7 Wonders of the World, we will ask you to build a world wonder with LEGOs! Challenge the whole family to get creative. Books for Dessert: Discuss book, enjoy dessert! Read and discuss Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel. Barks and Books: Sit. Stay. Read! Dogs make great listeners, and reading out loud to them can improve reading comprehension and confidence. Grab a book and take a paws to read out loud to a trained therapy dog! Movie and a Snack: Come to the library for a snack & a movie! The movie this month is Dear Evan Hansen, the film adaptation of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical about Evan Hansen, a high school senior with Social Anxiety disorder and his journey of self-discovery and acceptance following the suicide of a fellow classmate. Lord of the Rings, Lore of the Rings: From the creation of the Rings of Power to the legend of the One Ring, join us and learn Tolkien lore and everything you need to know for the new show The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, Lawrenceburg Main Library. DIY Saturday the Year of Stones and Crystals- Moonstone: 2022 is the Year of Stones and Crystals with Carisa Bunten of Seventh Street Gifts. The topic for June is moonstone. Traditionally this month’s birthstone is pearl, however, moonstone shares a similar sheen and color palette. It is often considered June’s birthstone metaphysically. Moonstone has strong folklore for safe travels and embracing the feminine. A small puka shell and piece of sustainable white sage will be included in this month’s kit along with your very own tumbled moonstone. To receive a stone you must register.
