Sater nets career-high as Panthers sting Defiance

The Hanover Panthers (5-2 overall, 2-0 HCAC) dominated Defiance on Saturday afternoon, swatting the Yellow Jackets in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest 73-46.

The Blue and Red were paced in the contest by senior Ty Houston (Union, Ky.) with a team-high 20 points while sophomore Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.) netted a career-high 17 points. Senior Jack Wininger (Elnora, Ind.) went to work on the boards pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Panthers came roaring out the gate as junior Brice Gilman (Clinton, Ind.) paced an 11-0 run over a four minute span to propelled HC in front 13-2. The offensive eruption continued with Sater this time leading a significant Panther run that saw them push the difference to 28-13. Hanover entered the intermission leading 42-23 after a pair of back-to-back blows by Houston.

Houston carried the momentum into the second stanza netting eight straight points to push Hanover to their largest lead of the contest, 58-28. The Panthers never looked back stinging the Yellow Jackets en route to the HCAC victory.

Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 14 welcoming Rose-Hulman. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
