Hanover struggles in road contest at Anderson

The Panthers (6-3 overall, 3-1 HCAC) dropped their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest of the season on Saturday afternoon at Anderson, falling to the Ravens 73-64.

Sophomore Luke Miller (Madison, Ind.) turned in a career performance netting a team-high 13 points. Senior Jack Wininger (Elnora, Ind.) added a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The first half saw Hanover look to establish their offense as junior Max Greenamoyer (Zionsville, Ind.) and Winninger netted back-to-back three-pointers giving HC the 16-12 advantage. Anderson soared within 16-15 before knotting the contest at 18-18 with 8:45 to play.

The Ravens finally got the lead at the 4:32 mark extending their advantage to as many as 33-26 at the intermission. The Panthers shot 12-of-26 from the field in the first half with Wininger leading the charge with seven points.

Anderson claimed their largest lead to date at the 15:51 mark before Miller went to work with a three-pointer that pulled Hanover within 50-41. He continued to pound the paint as sophomore Coleman Sater (Ellettsville, Ind.) found him for a runner in the lane. However, Anderson protected home court stifling the Panther explosive offense en route to the HCAC victory.

Hanover returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 29 when they hit the road for Salem, Va. taking on New York University (RV). Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
